Black-Owned Haircare Brands To Check Out

I have great news for beauty and haircare lovers everywhere. Walmart has expanded its beauty selection and there are several new black-owned haircare brands you can now easily shop from your local beauty aisle. There’s nothing quite like discovering fantastic new brands, showering your hair with extra love (pun intended) and supporting black owned businesses in the process.
I’ve already tested out a few of the new products available, but it’s just the beginning! Here are three black-owned haircare brands now available at Walmart to take note of, along with a few of the goodies I’ve already tried and loved.
The Doux
This is a 90s inspired hair care line with salon quality products. I was immediately intrigued by the 90s plug, and I had to get in on the action. I picked up their Mousse Def Texture Foam, which has been fabulous for touching up my curls on natural hair days and for giving me that sleek shine when I blow it out. Such a great buy!
Additionally, I tried out the We Want Easy Texture Tamer. You just apply a bit to damp hair and smooth it through your fingers. It’s a great way to hydrate your curls and protect your hair from heat tools if you use them for styling.
Tailored Beauty
This is a natural hair and skincare line that was started by an avid label reader like myself. The founder, Keya James, started questioning how good the ingredients in her hair care products really were for her and decided to go all natural and create her own!
I was intrigued to try out her Perfect Coils Curling Jelly, which has great ingredients like honey, castor oil and rosemary. I’ve also got my eye on the Everything Butter which you can put on skin or hair and helps with stretch marks!
Camille Rose
Finally, I’m a big believer in putting good ingredients both in and on your body. This is why I love the grit Janell, the founder of Camille Rose, had in starting her company. She was a mompreneur searching for solutions for her children’s eczema and other issues like diaper rash.
After all of her research, she ended up developing a line of natural body products, and now her hair care products are available at Walmart. I’m thinking I’ll have to try out the Naturals Honey Leave-In Treatment!
Supporting black-owned businesses has never been easier, and these brands are so easy to love. Next time you head to Walmart or shop online, be sure to treat yourself to some haircare TLC.
